An 8-day trek across some of the most spectacular sites in Jordan, from Wadi Rum in the south to the Moab canyons, north of Petra. The first day will start with a hike in Wadi Rum, the red desert of southern Jordan and the largest wadi in Jordan, it is also a UNESCO world heritage site. Following, will be three days of trekking through the splendid rose-colored city of Petra, the capital of the Nabataeans in the 4th century B.C. Next, we will transfer to Wadi Hassa and begin a 3-day light backpacking trip through the Wadi. The last day will be in Karak and exploring Wadi Mujib, a deep majestic canyon whose river Arnon enters the Dead Sea.
It is possible to join the trek only for the first 4 days in Wadi Rum and Petra, or only for the last 4 days in the Moab Canyons.
Wednesday 22nd: Meeting at the Arava Israel-Jordan border crossing at 7am. Wadi Rum: Rakabat Um Ejil
Thursday 23rd – Saturday 25th: From little Petra to the main part of Petra, including Jabel Harun, the springs and pools of Wadi Siagh, Wadi Numeir, as well as the famous Siq, the Treasury, the Monastery, the Roman theatre, and the High Place of Sacrifice.
The 4th night will be in a hotel in Wadi Musa, instead of camping outside.
Sunday 26th – Tuesday 28th: 3 days backpacking the water canyon of Wadi Hassa. Transfer to our hotel in Karak.
Wednesday 29th: Visit the large crusader castle in Karak; transfer to the Mujib Nature reserve to hike the Wadi Mujib – water fun and waterfalls. Transfer to the northern border.
We will be camping outside all nights, except the 25th and the 28th which will be in hotels.
